In multiple large-scale, national cases involving thousands of plaintiffs and multiple defendants, federal judges have repeatedly appointed Ron to lead the litigation. Similarly, he has been selected by his peers to lead litigation involving cases filed in courts across the country, where he was responsible for coordinating legal strategies and trials that led to successful outcomes.
While his excellence in the courtroom is well recognized, Ron is also known as a skilled negotiator. He is responsible for some of the country’s largest and most complex civil settlements.
As court-appointed lead counsel for thousands of cases transferred to a single federal court, Ron has negotiated numerous settlements ranging from 25 million to more than 400 million dollars.
In the national opioid litigation, he was lead counsel on behalf of all the local governmental entities in Kentucky in negotiations with the Commonwealth of Kentucky to equitably divide the settlement proceeds. He was able to negotiate a 50-50 division with the state, resulting in more than 400 million dollars going to remediate the opioid epidemic ravaging counties and cities in Kentucky.
Ron lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and when not representing his clients, his other passion is thoroughbred horse racing, where he participates as an owner and breeder.
